We stayed here on 31 March as part of a group tour. Having read the reviews we were somewhat concerned. However I find it hard to believe we were staying in the same hotel. Check in was efficient and our rooms were comfortable and clean. Our room contained 3 single beds, which made it a little cramped, but we used... more
First the only bit of good news. The hotel overlooks the lake at Te Anau for those lucky enough to have a room in that area. My room whilst quite large was a mish mash of furniture, curtains and carpet that didn’t match at all. No safe or air-conditioning added to my sense of desperation. The hotel was partly shrouded... more
This hotel certainly shows its age, as do the beds. no problems with staff, we didn't use the restaurant, so can't comment on catering . Overall, nothing special. more
Booked this hotel 5 months in advance requested double bed and a single, arrived after 5 hours drive from dunedin to find a very old run down hotel. Was given key to the room only to find 3 narrow single beds, layed on one to give benefit of doubt only to find 3 swaybacks. Staff not particularly helpful so we... more
We disagreed about this hotel's decor with one another. I thought it was a bit dated; Paul thought otherwise. It was comfortable, relatively quiet given the baby next door, and the staff were very helpful and attentive at reception. Two small criticisms: 1. The Restaurant Manager prowled throughout meals, fiddling with food and fussing around - hands off and let... more
We stayed here for 2 nights, but only really as a stopping point for getting to Milford Sound. The hotel is part of a chain and seems to be undergoing a renovation. Our bedroom was a bit dated, but the bathroom had been recently updated and was very nice. This hotel is just about as far from the main street... more
We booked the hotel after reading tripadvisor reviews based on the mixed reviews, that it was part of a big chain in the county and the few options bookables online but I have to agree with the bad reviews and encourage travelers to make an extra effort to book offline in some of the small places with better reviews (the... more
The hotel is in a great location but is in need of an upgrade. The beds were a bit saggy and the whole place had a tired look. The staff however were friendly and fun There's not much to do in Te Anau as it is a stepping stone to other activites so the hotel was good enough for the... more
We stayed here for 2 nights, the room was clean, and spacious. We didn't eat in the restaurant because we like a restaurant in the city more.We didn't have to complain about a thing.Just a normal 3 star hotel nothing more and nothing less. One thing though it is quit near the city centre, and a good overnight stay for taking... more
