We are just back from a 10 day trip on the South Island. The first two nights were spent at the Fiordland Lodge, a perfect start to a wonderful trip. The Lodge has 10 rooms and two cabins. Fiordland Lodge is pure luxury. Located on a bluff overlooking the Southern Alps, there is no better view in the South Island. The rooms are beautifully designed and every detail accounted for. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. We were made very welcome and the hotel is just so relaxing - easy and attentive service and a lounge with 15+ metre ceiling and windows to the top looking over the lake - very special and a log fire if it is cold. My husband and I stayed at the Fiordland Lodge for 3 nights in May 2003. The lodge is FANTASTIC and has stunning views of Lake Te Anau from all the rooms.
