I was in Nelson attending a conference being held at the Rutherford Hotel. Instead of staying at the conference venue I opted to stay offsite. Best move that I made. The Baywick Inn is a beautifully restored historic home. It is relatively close to downtown Nelson being a pleasant flat 10 minute walk. The house has a lovely ambience enhanced... more

We stayed at the Baywick Inn for 1 night in March 2008. We stayed in the Greenwood room, which has a separate bathroom. The bathroom is just outside the bedroom door, which was very convenient. The bathroom itself is tiny - this was ok for 1 night, but for longer stays I would recommend one of the other rooms which... more

We just returned from traveling around the south island of New Zealand and my favorite place to stay was Baywick Inn in Nelson. The owners Tim and Janet were hospitable way beyond expectation and we were made to feel like we were old friends from the start, although we had never met. Janet is a terrific cook so the breakfasts... more

The Baywick was one of the highlights of our trip to New Zealand! Janet & Tim made us feel well cared for. The Inn itself is charming. Guests have the use of the parlor, along with some brandy or sherry if you like. Our room was The Parkdale, a large room with a private sun porch and a very large... more

We too stayed in Burnside and had the pleasure of sitting on the private deck in the late afternoon sun with a glass of cod white wine - what a treat! Baywick is wonderful - Janet and Tim are superb hosts without being the least bit intrusive. The attention to detail and wonderful breakfasts made the experience all the better... more

After a long day in the car,I can't tell you how wonderful it was to arrive at Baywick Inn. The house is gorgeous, the hosts are fantastic and the bed was the most comfortable I have been in years. Nothing is too much trouble for Tim and Janet, and everything you could possible need is provided. Breakfast was delicious. I... more

We stayed at the Baywick Inn for two evenings over the 2007/2008 New Year. The house and room were very comfortable and well-furnished. Janet & Tim were great hosts, and Janet even helped us out in finding reservations in Abel Tasman when we forgot to earlier. Breakfast was quite good, and the other company at the hotel was pleasant and... more

We stayed between Christmas and New Year in 2007 after reading the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor, and were very pleased that reality matched the descriptions! The house is a beautifully restored Victorian building within easy strolling distance of the Town Centre, is tastefully furnished and offers all the comforts of home you would expect of a quality B&B. With this... more

We stayed with Tim & Janet in Dec in their beautifully restored house. Our bedroom with ensuite & a seperate balcony room overlooking the river was fantastic. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room very large & the ensuite to die for. It was pure bliss. The Baywick is just a few minutes walking to the town. Whatever you do... more

We had 2 nights in Nelson and were very happy at the Baywick Inn. It is a beautifully restored home across the road from the river. Janet and Tim were wonderful hosts and very helpful with good suggestions, even telling us about a sale at the NZ store downtown, where we could buy merino possum. Breakfasts were fabulous and our... more
