This is supposedly the highest rated hotel in the Ayers Rock Resort (outside of Longitude 131). We had two spa rooms, that retail for about $600 night. These rooms were average in decor, etc., but they had a spa, right? The first night we got there, went to jump in and the spa was empty. Okay, we will fill it... more

Our travel agent booked this location for us, and we did not have many expectations about the hotel. We had a great time. Our room was ready for us when we arrived around 1 PM and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room had a nice balcony with flowers over looking the pool. My only complaint is that... more

We chose Sails in the Desert after reading reviews on TripAdvisor, so thank you. April was a good time to go weatherwise, the days weren't too hot, (though drink the water, the heat is so dry your throat gets parched very quickly) and the nights were not as cool as we were told. ROOM: First impression was very spacious and... more

Spent 3 days at "Sails" in January I kind of agree with most of the other comments. We arrived at midday and were checked in immediately by very friendly & welcoming staff on front desk. Our room was very clean and "insect free" throughout our stay. However, they advertise this hotel at 5* and i am afraid, it is far... more

I am very aware that we made a big mistake in booking this hotel. We really should have booked one of the supposedly lower rated hotels as we weren't going to be there that much anyway. From the outset, I would say, don't book here, it's hugely overpriced, and if you want luxury you are better saving your money for... more

An oasis in the dessert. The rooms are big, clean and they have a hair dryer, toiletries and a balcony, air conditioning, TV. The food was amazing when you realise that you are at least 3 hours drive from Alice Springs and over 10 hours from anywhere else! Staff were friendly and the service varied from efficient and fast to... more

I do appreciate that this is a long way from anywhere and it was be very costly to bring things in, but the place is very pricey for what you get. The complex itself is quite large and very nice. We had to wait until 4:30 to get into our room but they did give us a complimentary( quite dirty)... more

Yes this hotel is expensive, but if you book two weeks before you go you can get incredible discounts. My husband and I got the hotel for just $262 a night using a discount website. The hotel is very nice, though we would rather have had one kingsized bed than two doubles, We did not eat at the hotel -... more

My wife and I have just returned from a fantastic trip to Uluru (Ayers Rock) where we stayed at Sails in the Desert for 4 days/3 nights. Due to the fact that we had won the trip via a charity auction we took the liberty of upgrading ourselves to a Spa Suite, and we were very glad we did. After... more

Completely mediocre. Rooms are spacious, a bit run down, servicable. It's the only game in town unless you want to spend a fortune at Longitude 131°. I'd be tempted to try the somewhat less expensive Desert Gardens since you're not going to get a great room no matter- unless you're going to Ayers Rock as a resort. Sails does have... more
