I have had the luck to follow the shaby ruins of Chateu Mcely from 2002 to turn into a real fairy tale place by summer 2007 thanks to the two very enthusiastic and talented people Inez and Jim Cusumano who now own and run the whole hotel complex. Thanks to them, yet another heavenly place with a special history has... more

I was part of a small group of frends that booked Chateau Mcely for a Board Retreat, and what a treat it was! Five days of pure luxury! This unique bed and breakfast has beautiful, bright, and lavishishly decorated rooms, each with its own theme. The furnishings, fireplaces, handpainted walls, and silk fabrics all make for a warm and comfortable... more

The Chateau is a unique experience in luxury and elegance. Situated on a private forest reserve close to a charming Czech village, the Chateau's exceptional service is only exceeded by the delicious food and the newly rennovated interior. We were close to Prague's excitement, and whisked back to another, slower and more elegant time and place when back at the... more

We had a wonderful lunch in a truly amazing rural setting. The presentation, food, wine selections and service were outstanding. The owners and the staff were very friendly and made us feel special. We did not stay at the hotel but visited the various suites and were impressed by the appointments and taste of decorations. Overall a very nice place... more

While living in Prague (about 75 min drive from Mcely) we went to Chateau Mcely to celebrate my wife's birthday. This hotel is unique in the Czech Republic, providing perfect service in a perfectly restored historical (small) castle - most other historic hotel properties in the country are superficially restored and their service reminds you of the pre-revolution times. As... more

Chateau Mcely is a fairy tale, a fantasy, a dream. My husband and I have been twice now (once wasn't nearly enough). We visited in the winter and in the summer as well. The hotel itself is a marvel. The artistry is compelling and unique - hand painted murals on the walls, beautiful fabrics and linens. Our room was always... more

There is seldom a time when I get impressed by an accomodation, and this is certainly the case with CHateau Mcely. I will start this review by saying that Rating 5 on Tripadvisor is simply not enough. If possible, I'd go with 7! (for anyone doubting the authenticity of this review, check out my profile and the numerous other locations... more

Staying in the Wing of time (2. floor) in June (suite) during a rainy April weekend, time suddenly changed its pace - while at the Chateau the wonderful time we spent was flying, it seemed like we spent a whole week of vacation, when we arrived back home. The dimension of relaxation is enormous. It is difficult to put into... more

We have just returned from a weekend at the Chateau Mcely. The hotel is magnificent and in a beautiful peaceful setting in which the service and ambience matched. On arrival we took a walk in the forest which was very pleasant walk in the area surrounding the hotel. We stayed in the 'rooms of the world' floor and our room... more

A one hour drive from Prague brings you to an oasis of calm where nothing is too much trouble and stress dissolves away the moment your car pulls onto the gavel driveway. Attention to detail is paramount, from the design of the rooms, the calm and capable nature of the staff, the fabulous food even the selection of books in... more
