Went to Riga with my two kids. Booked the suite in Viesturs 4 months ago - still they managed to mess up the reservation og mailed me that I had to interupt the 6-nights stay with the second night in another room. Anyway, they managed to fix the suite at last. The hotel is an small, old and rather "cosy"... more

This little hotel is a gem in Riga where there are lots and lots of noisy areas and bachelor/hen nights etc. It is off the main street and in a quiet area yet very convenient to everything. I went with a friend and we booked a room to share with two twin beds. The rooms are smallish, but why do... more

The best things about this hotel are: -its location in the old town, -not too pricey, -no traffic outside, -a good choice of food at breakfast time (from delicious coconut cakes to pickled mushrooms). The bad and laughable things are the extra charges: - if you need an extra pillow they charge by the day regardless of why you need... more

I stayed in a somewhat smallish single room for two nights in March 2008, and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. On the down side, the single room is indeed small, and my advice would be to book a double, which is not much more expensive but offers better comfort and space. The hotel is quiet, but... more

We are three senior couples travelling around the Baltics. Hotel Veisturs is situated just in the middle of Old Riga. There is 300 meters to Opera and 200 meters to very nice restaurant Melni Muki. The rooms are quite small but clean and tidy. Hotel rates are very competitive. The breakfast room is very small and you have to wait... more

The hotel is small, well located. Staff is friendly, but not always giving right directions or information. Breakfast was ok, but nothing more. Room comfortable, but again avarage, nothing more. In general, average value for money paid, but if you looking for something more, choose other hotel. more

Maybe this is an old stereotype, but when we think of Eastern Europe, and particularly Latvia, we think of cheap destinations, where one can buy a three course meal for under 10 euros and still have enough change for a taxi ride home. One trip to Riga and this illusion is shattered. Since the arrival of Ryan air flights, and... more

I just returned from a week at the Boutique Hotel Viesturs. As a solo traveler, my needs are different than a couple traveling. The front door to the hotel is locked at midnight and one must ring the bell to gain entry. Because my room was just off the lobby, this security measure was important to me. The hotel is... more

The Hotel Viesturs is a small, but comfortable hotel. The staff was always helpful, the buffet breakfast was adequate with the option of hot dishes cooked to order. The rooms (we were in both 32 and 34) are very small, but for a short stay, quite comfortable. Room 32 had a very large bathtub that was a luxury for us.... more

Excellent location in Riga Old Town. Really smart and stylish small boutique hotel with lovely rooms and bathrooms. Breaksfast plentiful and very tasty. A must for anyone visiting Riga and wanting to stay centrally in a small hotel. We visited with my 11year old daugher and she thought it was wonderful!! more
