This was one of the finest hotel experiences we have ever had. Be sure to book on the Gold Level. The staff are wonderful and they made our stay both memorable and extreemly pleasant. We had our grandchildren with us and they loved everything about this hotel. They have a lovely indoor pool, sauna, steam, etc. which was wonderful for... more

We arrived late in the early hours after a longer than anticipated handbag shopping trip............but the parking valet and Carl the luggage handler were on hand immediately; the front desk said they were expecting us and arranged complimentry drinks for us since the bar had closed for the evening. Our room was on the 9th floor, it was clean and... more

Our family of 6 just returned from a fabulous stay at the Fairmont. Parents had a room on concierge level and kids had a room one floor below. The concierge staff was friendly and attentive and treated our children very kindly, even sending up a large tray of chocolate on the one night we could not attend the chocolate fondue.... more

I stayed on the "Gold" or concierge 9th floor at the Fairmont DC in early Dec-2007, and I'll be back. Yes, it cost quite a bit more--$170 extra per night under my plan--but the pampering, food, and service was well worth it, truly extraordinary. For the 50+ rooms on that floor, they staff 7-9 people who even address you by... more

We stayed at the Fairmont on December 23. Every staff person with whom we interacted was pleasant and helpful. My wife and I and our 3 children had two adjoining rooms, which were large, well-furnished and clean. The public spaces are also quite nice. My only complaint is that the televisions are very small. They should have been at least... more

Overall excellent service, good location and good value for DC. We also dined at the rest. one noght and the food was good and reasonably priced. We would certainly returrn. more

This is a typical Fairmont hotel - high quality, excellent service, large and well-appointed rooms. I enjoyed my room very much. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had nice amenities, and I had a small balcony overlooking the lovely courtyard. Room service dinner was delicious and well-presented (but expensive, as room service always is!). The concierges and front desk people... more

We were in town October 12 - 13th 2007 for a friend's wedding. The wedding reception was wonderful, our stay was not. Upon arriving, we were undelighted to learn that they had mistakenly checked someone else into our room. The Front Desk Associate apologized and offered us a drink while they sorted out the room situation. Twenty minutes later, the... more

Stayed with a conference rate which made it affordable (at least for DC). This is one of my favorite hotels in DC for business travel, an easy walk to Georgetown for many restaurants or to Dupont Circle. It's in a fairly residential neighborhood, so not a lot going on in the immediate area, but a couple of places for a... more

Large rooms, nicely appointed though the bathroom was a little small. An old hotel, but well maintained. However, it is not immaculate. I noticed some mold and peeling. Has an old world feel to it. Common areas are very nice. Staff is friendly, but it took 20 minutes to get my car from valet, which made me late for a... more
