When I got this hotel thru priceline I was a little nervous after reading the reviews on this site. I had no problems at all. I was in DC for a National's baseball game and the hotel location is very good for that. I walked to the ballpark and to the Navy Yard Metro several times. While it's not the... more
When we arrived the front desk personal was very unpolite. After entering the room we recognized that the room has not been cleaned up (dirty towels, full basked, used beds). We complained about it and the front desk person promised to take care about this issue with a smile on his face that was telling us we should not get... more
I had a business meeting elsewhere in the DC Metro area and chose this hotel because of the reasonable price and proximity to a Metro subway station (Navy Yard). I had no problems at all and found my stay to be pleasant. The area shows many signs of economic renewal, no doubt spurred by the new baseball stadium just a... more
The hotel staff were friendly and courteous but seemed reluctant to help when we asked. The downstairs diner wasn't any better. We sat there for quite some time before we realized if we're interested in the open breakfast buffet, than we could help ourselves. Not sure how long we sat there as the waitress walked by us several times. Spoke... more
Who ever wrote the internet spiel on this hotel was certainly very creative. The hotel is based in such a seedy, sordid part of town. Drug addicts mix with drunks outside the hotel. The area is very much a no go area. Even our taxi driver locked the doors and advised us to always book a taxi whenever we wanted... more
Stayed at this hotel on a Sunday night for under $100. For the price it was quite good. It's a bit of a walk to the monuments, but not too bad. The neighbourhood was okay, but you might want to take a cab at night to be on the safe side. The price was more than doubled for Monday so... more
I stayed here for almost a week in March. While the staff was courteous, they also seemed like they were incapable of keeping a handle on some dramatic events. Two nights in a row ambulances showed up at the hotel. People were crying in the lobby. Street people approached me right outside of the entrance. What good is this place... more
I booked this hotel via a Priceline bid and was disappointed that I had "won" a hotel some distance from the conference I was participating in at another hotel. After cabs and all (the Metro was not very accessible on rainy days), I probably didn't save much money when compared against the conference rate at the conference hotel. That said,... more
I was kind of leery after reading some of the reviews but it was by no means a nightmare. I would advise you to skip the full American breakfast buffet if you are recovering from bypass surgery or have any plans to keep your arteries clear. Pros: - Reasonable price for DC; you get a free pass to an outstanding... more
