Off the beaten path on 25th St. NW, this small hotel was a much-needed respite from the craziness of Cherry Blossom weekend. It is in a quiet, residential neighborhood which borders on George Washington University and is close to a metro stop if you prefer not to drive. The rooms are nicely decorated in hues of gold with dark wood.... more

We stayed as a family of 5 for 4 nights and had a great experience. There was ample room for all of us. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd defintely stay there again. more

We were in DC this week which is Very BUSY time of year. We were glad to get a 1 bed room suite (Potomac suite) with kitchenette for under 300 dollars. Good size bedroom, living room and nice little kitchenette. This allowed my husband and I and our 13 year old daughter to have plenty of room. It was clean... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the River Inn for six nights right before Christmas. I love DC in December: weather is brisk, tourists AND politicians are few and there are great hotel bargains. The River Inn is well situated for tourists. From Dulles we caught the Washington Flyer to the W. Falls Church Metro station and from there to... more

I stayed at The River Inn for 7 nights at 167 dollars per night including tax, a great value for many reasons. Excellent location. Bring your walking shoes! Safe, fairly quiet area. Two blocks from the Foggy Bottom GWU subway station, so only minutes away from business centers and major malls like Union Station and Pentagon City. Two blocks from... more

My husband and I stayed at the River Inn for three days beginning on Thanksgiving Day. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. The negative comments I see are way out of line, or written by very picky travelers. While it is an older building, it's got real character. It was beautifully decorated and very low key.... more

Thanksgiving weekend (4 days) in a Corporate Suite (normal room). With AAA, it was $90 a night. This was the main reason to stay at The River Inn. For the price, it was excellent. A young couple that doesn't want to spend on a weekend away would be advised to check this out. The good: It is near the metro,... more

Loved my one-night stay at The River Inn. I needed something comfortable, convenient and safe for an overnight business trip. The room was nicely decorated, large and comfortable. You can tell that the building is older, but they've done a nice job of dressing it up. I didn't use the kitchenette but it was a nice touch, along with the... more

I was here on business and really enjoyed my stay. My suite was pleasant, only gripe would be the noisy heating units that shut off with a BANG in the middle of the night. Having a kitchenette w/coffee and coffeemaker (and a Wash Post) was quite helpful for mornings. Got stuck in the hotel restaurant due to weather but the... more

We loved our stay at the River Inn. Our room was clean, comfortable, well appointed, and a decent size. We like boutique hotels but sometimes expect a bit smaller bathrooms, however this is not the case at the River Inn! There is a dressing table area outside the bathroom and a nice size bathroom that is tastefully updated. There is... more
