Beautiful boutique hotel - amazing location right across the park from the White House. Quiet area, with churches and trees and flowers. Room was decorated in soft whites and fresh materials. Service was kind and friendly. Highly, highly recommend staying here. more

Perfection is an elusive idea, so that one could always discuss about details diverging from it. This dutifully said in advance, I’ pleased to report that every detail during our stay at Hay-Adams in Washington spoiled us in the most desirable way , so that looking for something less than ideal would be a useless waste of time. Besides a... more

It was thrilling to introduce our ten year-old daughter to Washington, D.C. with a stay at a such a memorable hotel. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and the air was chilly, but the ambience was warm and inviting. Breakfast was leisurely and abundant. It may have been obvious to those around us that we were just tourists, but... more

Three nights at this superlative location, at the height of cherry-blossom season, made for the nicest hotel stay I've ever had, anywhere. (Full disclosure: we were the guests of very generous family members so I don't know what the cost was.) The welcome and amenities were exceptional, the staff genuinely cheerful and eager to help with advice. And the room,... more

I realized I'd never written a review on this and wanted to as it stands out as one of my outstanding hotel experiences. My wife and I stayed here twice in 2005, both times in a Junior Suite, once with White House flagpole view and the other with a full White House view. The experience of looking out your window... more

LOCATION: The Hay Adam’s is located at 16th & H Streets N.W. which is right in front of the white house. It is also two blocks from the McCarthy subway stop (blue and orange lines) and 4 blocks from the Farragut North subway stop (Redline). Most of the restaurants my family and I ate at were well in walking distance.... more

This hotel is a hidden gem! It's right across the street from the White House. The beauty and charm of an old hotel with all the comforts of modern upgrades. The beds are heaven--lots of pillows and a warm and cozy down comforter. There's nothing like falling asleep on a bed of beautiful with soft white linens. They also take... more

This is a wonderful little pearl in the middle of Washington DC just in front of the white house. Ok it's expensive. But you get what you pay for. Perfect location, personal service from the staff and wonderful rooms. During our stay the hotel was undergoing refurbishment. We were not informed of this and one day it was very noisy... more

We were passing through washington d.c. on our way to meet with family and decided to stay at the hay adams due to its amazing location. If you're in washington for sightseeing there really is no better location in all the city. Once we arrived the experience only got better and better until we finally left. We had originally picked... more

I realize three stars is unusual for this hotel. I'm usually probably overly generous with my ratings, but in this case I think the mediocre review is warranted, and hopefully will include some helpful tips for others. Let me jump in with a huge issue--not a problem so much, but a caveat. The issue is room views. The hotel markets... more
