Great hotel. A local friendly feel – nothing like the normal sterile offerings you get if you want hot water and satellite TV. Very friendly and relaxed, great staff, good mountain views (on clear days) and a good area away from strike/demonstration hot spots. The Summit is an excellent place to stay for some days: it is just between the cities of Kathmandu and Patan, it is on a low hill with superb views on the Himalaya (the best in Kathmandu), it has a wonderful garden cum pool, the staff is the frendliest I have ever encoutered in Asia, end the rooms are good... more

It's a great place to relax and unwind. there is a cosy bar where meals are available and you can also eat in the garden area as well as the more formal resteraunt. Wednesdays and Sundays there are organically grown fruit and veg and delicious bread and pastries for sale around the pool as well as local honey, preserves, tea... more
