We were quite suprised considering it's a Shangri La that it really could do with a refurb - some bits look really tired. We first stayed on the 3rd floor and it was like staying at a Travelodge but then stayed on the 4th floor - so much better. The gardens are lovely and peaceful and it's only 20 min... more
we stayed at shangila in agust 2006. the hotel is very nice - friendly staff - good location. the hotel has a casino, spa and pool. we have not really got to use any but we paid a visit to the casino. didnt play though. for more info info about katamndu, please see my tips on the city review more
We stayed at the Shangri La for two nights at the beginning and end of an expedition. The first night we were given a room on the ground floor which was dark and dingy. The shower was broken, and the entire room was "tired" to say the least, however so were we so we ate some dinner in the restaurant... more
