We stayed at the Chaing Mai Plaza for 3 nights in June. The hotel is well located within easy walking distance to the night market; a longer 20-30 minute walk to the old walled city. There are however always tuk tuks outside the hotel if you prefer to take one, we didn't. The hotel was not very busy when we... more

We stayed at the Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel for 6 nights as part of a Pacific Delight Tour. As previous reviews have stated, the lobby is very nice, but the hotel rooms are in need of a bit of sprucing up. (They are currently rennovating rooms on some floors.) That said, we still had an enjoyable stay. The Rooms: We... more

Wonderful hotel. All staff speak good English and service is great The room was clean and spacious. Laundry line in the bathroom was a bonus. Bed was comfortable and bedding was clean. American buffet breakfast had lots of variety. You could sit in a smoking or non smoking area, inside with air conditioning or outside. Pool was clean. No internet.... more

Stayed here with SmarTours. We were travelling as a triple. They brought in a roll-away bed that felt like you were sleeping in a hammock. Housekeeping was quite noisy in the hallways at all hours of the day (tough if you wanted a nap). Security is lax: housekeeping let me into my room without identification or question. The location of... more

...from a place like this. Before I visited Chiang Mai, I read all of the reviews...my agent was able to book this place for 9 nights for less than $400 US...that's $36USD/night! The lobby is nice, the staff is friendly and the rooms are clean...what else could you want for the price? The breakfast buffet is included in the price... more

From the lobby the hotel looks fine but wait until you get to your room. The hotel is old, extremely dated and just plain horrible. The only saving grace is it's clean . . . at least for the most part. The walls are paper thin, you can hear EVERYTHING. When the people in the rooms next to ours were... more

After escaping the hussle and bussle of Bangkok, we arrived in Chiang Mai and taken to Chang Mai Plaze Hotel. It looks like a palace and is kept incredibley clean. So many staff to assist you, the service was great, the accommodation good. The location is a five minute walk to the night markets. I can't wait to go back. more

My husband and I spent three days at Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel in January 2007. The foyer of the hotel was very grand. “Wow,” I thought. “This is going to be the best $70AUS per night room ever.” Lots of marble, very spacious, lots of style. We had especially asked for a non smoking room when we booked a few... more

Before booking our stay we read a review that said the lobby was the best thing about this property. We should have taken this advice. We arrived to this hotel early - as we had come to Chiag Mai by overnight train. Believe when I say that we shouldn't have bothered to wait until the 1pm check in time. We... more

Myself and friend stayed here for just 2 nights in August. The hotel was just a short taxi ride from Chiang Mai airport and we arrived to a very big hotel! The place looked huge from the outside and we walked into a very impressive lobby area. They had our room and key ready in about 10 minutes and we... more
