Great hotel in a very well located area. Stayed 2 weeks ago, 2 suites on the 2nd to top floor (restaurant above) great views, good buffet breakfast, all good. ANZ eftpos machine right outside, within walking distance of many sights, large shopping mall with supermarket just over the road more

We took a taxi from the airport to this hotel and immediately liked the neighborhood. When we checked in there was a problem with the room so they upgraded us to a suite. We changed back the next night to a normal room, just as nice but without the extra living room area. Both rooms were clean and the buffet... more

My partner and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during Christmas 2007. The complaint I wish to share with fellow travellers is as follows - and for me to complain on here is quite unusual - I'm pretty laid back! Upon checkin, we were informed that another guest in the hotel had decided to "stay another night" and... more

This is a good value 3* city centre hotel in District 1, near to Don Khoi Street, the river, sightseeing and shopping. It was undergoing a facelift in March, and the lobby area was pristine. We booked a cosy room which surprisingly, was quite spacious, but without a window. It had been completely renovated recently and as we were only... more

We stayed at the Oscar Saigon Hotel for 3 nights in January 2008. The hotel is ideally located, two blocks from the Hotel de Ville (City Hall), near lots of attractions and restaurants. Our room was nice, with a king-size bed, plenty of space and a good view. The buffet breakfast, included with the room, was excellent, with omelets, fresh... more

In Ho-Chi-Minh City everything was more expensive than the rest of Vietnam, so while normally I stay in 4 Star hotels, I could only afford, for the same price, to stay in this place. Honest to it's 3-star rating, this is a clean, straight-forward, no-frills hotel. Everything works, plenty of hot water, attentive staff, well insulated windows against the unbearable... more

Used to stay here when I first started on my business trip to HCMC and has stayed for several times. Liked it because the rooms are renovated so though the exterior looks old, the rooms are well renovated and most importantly clean. Limited TV channels in the room and not much of facilities to relax, there is a karaoke on... more

The lobby of the hotel was beautiful, but unfortunately when we got to our room on the 7th floor we were looking down into someones home. The hotel was under constuction, so we had no bar, if you wanted a drink you had to have it in your room. The breakfast was very good, however the restaurant was on the... more

We found the Oscar to be way above its 3 star rating. We arrived 3 hours before check in but only had to wait 1/2 an hour before we were shown to our rooms for 5 days via the slow lift. Our room was on the 8th floor and although it didnt have a window it was large and very... more

Not the worst place we stayed in Vietnam, but close to it. Being objective, the location is fine, the bathroom was clean and the included breakfast was good. The room however was a claustrophobic cell without a window and walls so thin that one could hear every TV, conversation, footfall and appliance on the floor. Checkout was marred by extortion... more
