angel's home hotel offers excellent service, charming staff, clean rooms and possibly the best location in istanbul for exploring the old city. we were only 5 minutes walk from the blue mosque, topkapi palace and the haghia sophia. the hotel is also surrounded by restaurants which are quite cheap compared to those on the main drag by the basilica cistern/tramline.... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here over 5 nights. Super location in the Sultanahmet district, walking distance to practically everything. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with lots of thoughtful touches in them. Staff were without exception friendly and helpful. Thanks in particular to the guys in the hotel who brought the European cup to life. As sad British non-participants, it... more

Angel's Home is a great home base for an Istanbul adventure. Located in the Sultanahmet, you are a stones throw from the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. The tram is also very close which takes you to all the interesting parts of the city. My room was great with comfortable beds, television and a fridge. There was lokum (turkish delight)... more

I travelled to Istanbul after my high school graduation last June, and found this hotel online before hand while researching hotels that were priced cheaper. Needless to say I was impressed immediately as there was someone waiting for me at the airport right after I had my luggage. However, the area the hotel is in took my breath away, a... more

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. The staff were universally friendly and helpful, the rooms were very nice and the view from the terrace simply stunning. All our requests - from wanting the room to be warmer to requesting a late check-out - were dealt with professionally and quickly. This was my third visit to Istanbul and was... more

I reserved this hotel due to the good reviews on TripAdvisor and nice deal on another website. But when we arrived at the hotel we were disappointed. Decoration of the room was fine just the way it is represented on the websites, but in reality everything was like fake/artificial. They tried to give the impression about romance, and they barely... more

No complaints. Exceptional value.Location perfect.Staff attentive and very helpful.More so than higher rated establishments. Also at a price the retired can afford!!! It being our first visit to Istanbul we booked with a certain trepidation but discovered an ideal breakaway holiday and hotel. Even the carpet sellers are amusing and great value!!! more

Great location for visiting Sultanamet, with friendly staff and some charm, but it has many significant problems. 1) Fleas in the bedroom, providing sleepless nights. 2) Breakfast was in a different building in a restaurant on a street around the corner. 3) There was no room service, the food very poor (experimentation was required). The hotel could do with a... more

What a perfect little jewel this hotel is. Let's not forget, this is 2-star territory, 2-star pricing, so let's keep our expectations in perspective. If 2-star's your territory, I'd recommend the Angel's Home without hesitation. The location's fabulous - in a quiet and pleasant area within sight (just) of the Blue Mosque in the tourist heart of Istanbul. If you... more

Reviewer: Alicia, Australia As two 26 year old first time travellers to Turkey, my partner and I did not know what to expect coming to Istanbul. We had originally booked only 2 nights at Angel's Home prior to departing Australia, thinking we would likely want to explore elsewhere during our eight nights in Istanbul. However, after staying one night we... more
