We stayed in the Pasha suite, which has its own hammam, very nice but no bathtub on the theory that you'll use the hammam. The decor is elaborate, with gold trim on everything. All the furniture is pushed to the walls, leaving an area in the middle suitable for gymnastics. While the food is ok at the restaurant in the... more

We were very pleased with Yesil Ev (Green House) in Istanbul. Our room was small, not unlike most older European hotels where we have stayed. The staff was pleasant enough and the morning breakfast quite satisfactory. It is located very near the Blue Mosque on a quiet street. The only outside noise you are aware of is the call to... more

This was my second stay at the charming Yesil Ev, and I can't recomend it highly enough for anyone staying in Istanbul. The small hotel (30-something rooms) is a restored Ottoman villa. Its location is perfect--on a quite street in between Hagia Sophia and Sultanamet (the Blue Mosque). We could see Sultanamet from our room. Breakfast in the garden is... more

I spent a delightful week here and had a very lovely time. Dinner in the the greenhouse was good and people could not have been kinder or more eager to please. The breakfast buffet was a bright spot each morning. As a special note I returned to Istanbul after touring Eastern Turkey for two weeks and took a friend to... more

It would difficult to better the location of the Yesil Ev as it is so central to the main sights and enables you to get an early start ahead of the coach parties. With its charming garden it makes a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding area. Our ground floor room overlooked the cobbled street and... more

The hotel was quite charming and it has the most beautiful garden i have ever seen. But our rooms was quite small, the king size bed in the room already took the whole place, and still there were 2 wardrobes in the rooms which is nonsense.Sleeping after the sunrise was impossible because the curtains were not really curtains(something like decorative curtains)so they were... more

This Hotel vies with the Four Seasons for the best location in Istanbul. It is a charming old world place with a lovely garden rear for drinks and dinner. Ideal for seeing Haghia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi, and close enough to be able to pop back to the hotel for a brief rest between sights. Be prepared to be... more

The Yesil Ev is a small hotel -- actually a converted merchant's house with a lovely garden. It has a great location -- about 200 yards from the Blue Mosque and also very close to the Topkapi Palace and other historic locations. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are very comfortable. more

A frequent Istanbul traveler had recommended the Yesil Ev, and its location is ideal to see the highlights of the Old Town on foot. Now 21 years old, after its restoration by the Turkish Auto Touring Association, it needs a bit of sprucing up, particularly in comparison with the newer restorations by Touring on nearby cobblestone streets surrounding the Aya... more

The Green House or Yesil Ev is an oasis in the busy Sultanhamet. We were so impressed with the staff and service we stayed a week and never blinked. The garden is a true haven for the weary and magical at night with the Hagia Sofia looming beyond the trees which form a canopy of shade during the day. The... more
