We found this hotel using our Fromer's Guide Book. The place is beautiful, full of antique collectables, and the grounds and gardens are well kept. The hotel is clean. The staff is friendly and engaging. The hidden gem is the restaurant. The food we ate here was the best we had in all of Turkey! All the ingredients are local... more

After a not so great hotel in Istanbul, it was refreshing to arrive at Hotel Kalehan. The staff were welcoming and assisted us in bringing our luggage to the room. The rooms are small (expected in Europe), but clean with white walls. The courtyard and pool are perfect for relaxing after a long day of tourist activities. We ate dinner... more

I would like to write a quick note to share with you our deep appreciation for the kindness of all the people at the Hotel Kalehan. My husband and I have been sharing our Ephesus experiences with ten or twelve people for several years. This past October was our 22nd visit and again our experience at the Hotel Kalehan was... more

A quaint little hotel in the nearest village to Ephesus, Standard rooms were basic and small, with an ensuite, so it was all we needed though a bit tight with baggage. No aircon which would be tough had it been much hotter. The swimming pool was delightful after the heat and crowds of Ephesus. Meals were very basic, and contrary... more

Old hotel with very small rooms. Needs updating and ac. Stuffy and a bit smelly. Pass on this one. 120 euros ridiculous. Buffet minimal. No internet. more

We arrived without prior reservations and were pleasantly surprised at this property. The grounds are absolutely charming with a hammock, quaint little conversation areas, roses and a lovely small pool. There are three seperate buildings and each is full of quaint antiques and interesting objects. The food here is among the best we had. make sure to have dinner here.... more

The Kale Han was recommended to us by a French guide (guide du Routard) as an "hotel de charme" in Selcuk. The location of the hotel is not great as it is far from the town centre, on a highway with continuously high traffic. The hotel in itself is nice, very beautiful inside garden, a swimming-pool (that could be more... more

This family owned and run hotel is managed to a high standard, with great care and attention to the personal needs of the traveller. Friendly and welcoming staff. Quiet, comfortable air-conditioned rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Excellent restaurant. Delightful rose garden and pool. Idealy situated to visit the important historic sites of Ephesus, the tomb of St. John and the last... more

For the sixth year in a row we have taken a small group to the Kalehan for a three night stay in a 22 day tour. Once again everyone loved it, appreciating the beautiful gardens and pool, the comfortable, charmingly decorated rooms and the friendly, natural staff. They must have the best chef in Selcuk as the food is delicious,... more
