We just returned from a stay here. My advice: Stay Away! It baffles me that Marriott would keep this property in its collection! Renaissance Hotels are Marriott properties, but how this one got away from their usual high standards is mind-boggling! Dirty, worn out, run down, are the best descriptions. Staff is very indifferent to guests, and ultra-religious in the... more

Two different hotels in one; price given on phone was not the same when arrived; if you're booked in the lesser part-poor service and difficult to get luggage to apprpriate elevators; Staff was not helpful-and access to a hotel desk top computer was very expensive; They did provide a shuttle to Old City a few times in a.m. but no... more

The hotel is sad and outdated with bad early 80's decor. They would not turn the heat on in march even though it was freezing. The staff was clueless. They use an unpleasant smelling cleaner. Aside from that, the indoor pool/sauna was pretty good, but small. The outdoor pool was not open. Breakfast was good. It is not close to... more

I was an overnight guest at the Renaissance Jerusalem Hotel on the night of December 29-30, 2006. Early in the morning of Saturday Dec 30, 2006 there was a fire in the hotel sauna that generated a great amount of smoke. The smoke was clearly apparent in the rooms of all the floors in our wing. THERE WERE NO SMOKE... more

Stayed here because I was visiting people nearby, although I was a bit concerned at the negative reviews here. This set my expectations at a low level and I was therefore pleasantly surprised. The room was good enough, and quite clean, although the bathroom was rather dilapidated. Only ate breakfast there which was quite good, although the hot food was... more

First my credentials: I travel frequently (I have been around the world twice in the last 12 months and visited countries in all 5 continents in the last 2 years). I am an Intercontinental Hotels Platinum Elite card holder - less than 1% of clients have these cards, as well as Hilton, Marriott, Starwood upper level cards. So, I do... more

Unfortunately, the Renaissance has declined considerably since my last stay. I will not stay there again. The room was dirty (unvacuumed), the furnishings very tired--nicked, stained, etc., the staff was surly, the food was very second rate and expensive. While the hotel will have an attraction for Orthodox patrons due to its strict kosher food policies and Shabat elevator, the... more

1. If you make your reservation through Marriott, AAA, AARP etc., the lowest rates come without Breakfast. The better deal is to order the tourist package with breakfast. 2. The lobby is luxurious and neat. The only stores are a Steimatzky magazine/bookstore and H Stern art/jewelry. 3. The restaurant and coffee shop serve excellent food, enormous portions and at reasonable... more

I stayed in the Royal Wing of this hotel with a tour group. I had stayed there one other time (2003). Our room was a nice size, nicely appointed (not elaborate by any means....but nice) and it was very clean. A request for extra bed pillows was answered within minutes by the arrival of a pleasant housekeeper at the door... more

Three of us stayed at the hotel and were shocked to learn the per person price for breakfast was $22. To our knowledge no other resturants were within walking distance so the hotel had somewhat of a captive audience. No, we definitely would not stay there again. more
