Was there in April-May this year. Its a welly great hotel. The breakfast is fit for a king and queen. However there are some odd smells in the corridors I think that is due to people cooking food in their rooms. Overall its a nice hotel, the walk to the haram is not far at all accept having to take... more

I stayed in Sofitel/royal makkah in June 2007, well it is the best hotel/location I have stayed so far from my previous visits/umah/hajj to Makkah. Love the location - very near to HARAM and shopping centres. The room is spacious..... looking forward to stay there again...but sad to know now in June 2008, I just recently go to Makkah for... more

This hotel is really good mashaAllaah, excellent room service, laundry and housekeeping...etc. Very close to the Haraam, also has a shopping mall downstairs, not that the shops are anything special, same shops as in the UK, however it has great restaurants on 3rd floor. The only downside to the hotel is the elevators, you have to go to floor 11... more

Stayed at Zam Zam Sofitel during Umrah trip. The room that we had was very comfortable with sink, cooker, kettle and table for dining. This small kitchen was very handy especially for our 2 and a half year old daughter. Rooms were well decorated with very good quality bed linen. Bathroom was very clean with all the modern bits and... more

We stayed in this hotel for a Umra trip, great hotel excellent service and friendly staff specially room service and reception is remarkable. very near to Harm sharee, perhaps only few minutes walk. Breakfast is fantastic and delicious. only thing, I didn't like is the car park facilities of hotel. Hotel is charging from guests to park their cars in... more

The hotel is still under construction, so you will witness alot of construction work going on. We had a kaaba view double suite room but to be honest, we really had to strain our neck in the window to see a glimpse of the side view of the kaaba. The room was nice, the breakfast was excellent. The lobby is... more

What a Hotel, but no service at all. We stayed in a Suite on the 31st floor, great views of the Haram and Mecca including the mountains. The rooms were really accomodating to stay in, but no service at all. House-keeping was really terrible, as the room was not cleaned on time. When I arrived and checked in, the air-con... more

Just returned from an Umrah trip with family. If you don't speak arabic learn it before you go because the staff will ignore you and even walk away. The place is very flashy and comfy rooms but the service is terrible. The place is chaos in the lobby littered with luggage, a sure fire hazzard. Room service can take upto... more
