...and indeed one of the best hotels anywhere. As another reviewer has pointed out - it's classy. The lobby is understated and very elegant. Decor is throughout a tasteful, Korean, wood-centred vibe - very nice. The service is superb. The rooms...well my advice is get a suite if you can, or if you're going to be staying frequently (as I... more

This is a very impressive hotel, with helpful staff. Our room was large, with comfortable beds and an electric toilet (Toto), which was educational. We ate at the Ariake Japanese Restaurant. The food was well presented and tasty. The breakfast catered for Chinese/Korean/Japanese and Western tastes and was most enjoyable. The service was excellent. The pool area is clean and well... more

This hotel was gorgeous. The staff was also top knotch. The rooms were huge along with the bathrooms. The decor was amazing. The hotel was also very clean. They also had an amazing duty free shop next to the hotel that was owned by the hotel that was so nice. We had room service and dinner at the hotel as... more

The Shilla is one of the premiere hotels in Seoul. This is a place primarily for business and diplomatic visitors. The level of privacy and security at the hotel is very good. Typical guests include presidents and high profile celebrities. We stayed in an Executive Deluxe room. We used the hotel's cellphone heavily, and was glad we had one. The... more

Just came back a few day agos after 2 weeks there. Very nice hotel. Like an earlier reviewer stated, it's much nicer then a Marriott. Emphasis on quality. No problems with translation. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Just a couple of suggestions. First if you need a phone while you're there (I did for work - US phones don't work... more

Good hotel. Clean, good service, no language issues. Nicer than a typical Marriott or Hilton in the US. To get to the hotel from Seoul Inchean international airport.... after customs, go out Exit #4 and find the Hotel Limo Bus line for the Shilla (it will also say Hilton and Grand Hyatt). Pay (don't forget local currency!) as you load... more

Travelled to Seoul on business and was being put up at the Shilla Hotel. Heard from someone before I left that it had been around for 20-30 years or so, but other than the English and Korean names on a piece of paper (to show the taxi driver) I had no other information. It was a pleasant surprise on arrival... more

My son and daughter in their mid-twenties and I stayed at the Shilla Hotel for five days as a vacation. We were interested in touring since 2 of us had never visited Korea before. The staff at the concierge desk was outstanding. They facilitated our plans and were helpful in every way possible. The physical hotel was very nice but... more

Just got back from a two-night stay at the Shilla with my partner. We booked a Deluxe room through LHW and were upgraded to a room on the Executive floor, and given a late checkout. According to the website and room key card, there are added benefits to this floor, such as complimentary continental breakfast in the lounge, cocktails and... more

The Shilla is good, but frankly speaking far to expensive. It has gone through some renovation and is mainly used by Koreans or US Military. Owned by the Samsung group the management is kind of traditional Korean. Location is ok, but you can get the same if you go to Sofitel around the corner for a much better price. more
