Went to Egypt for first time and decided on Luxor. To be honest we booked the Mercure because of the price and what a great choice we made. The hotel was clean and tidy and offered various different places to eat - although a little pricy compared with other places to eat. The staff were great and we had pool... more

I booked a week at the mercure with a group of 18 students the guest relations manager promised us football this never happened the music is too loud on a night if you are in the old block especially if you plan to get up to view temples, tombs etc, the only saving grace was the relaxed atmosphere in Yorkshire... more

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Mercure Luxor. We were a bit hesitant about the hotel after reading some of the reviews but we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We can't understand where the bad reviews came from as we experienced no problems. The hotel staff are very friendly and couldn't do enough for you, the... more

I returned yesterday from a week at the Mercure. I was a little bit hesitant about staying there having read some of the reviews here but I was extremely pleasantly surprised. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. Almost without exception they were friendly and could not do enough for you. They were good fun but not too... more

We had stayed in the Nile Palace whilst we stayed in Luxor but our return flight was delayed by many hours (problem with plane). As the nile palace was fully booked we were unable to keep our rooms. Cosmos sent all the guests to the Mercure to get some sleep and freshen up whilst we awaited more news of when... more

Our flight was delayed and tour operator arranged a night for us at this hotel which was supposedly of the same class as our sonesta cruise. We were given a twin room (with hairballs on the bathroom floor) instead of double room and we requested to be moved. The rooms were a good size with ample storage space, but very... more

Returned 2 days ago from Luxor. First week on the Magic 1 cruise boat which was excellent and then 1 week at the Mercure. Lovely hotel - we had a Nile view and they are currently refurbishing rooms, ours had already been done and was spacious ,clean and the bathroom complete with bath and shower was immaculate. The hotel seemed... more

I stayed at the Mercure Luxor back in January but after reading these bad reviews felt I should set a few things straight. My friend and I stayed in this hotel for a week and had a fabulous time. I have no idea why people are claiming to have experienced poor service as the staff literally couldn't do enough for... more
