Having read some reviews about this hotel I was not looking forward to staying there but I was pleaseantly surprised. Ok, so it could do with a lick of paint but it is clean and the staff are polite and helpful. Ths food is good and very cheap. There is a choice of 4 reatuarants just within the hotel. (The... more

While the staff were courteous and the breakfast was OK, the rooms were very out-dated and in need of a good makeover. A couple of appliances in the bathroom malfunctioned, and the restaurants were mediocre. In terms of Luxor, the location of the hotel was good, being right in the middle of town. However, tourists may get hassled by vendors... more

This hotel is very close to the luxor temple and within walking distance of the museum. However it is shabby and in poor condition. The food is poor and with exception of Macdonalds there are few places in the immediate vacinity to purchase food elsewhere. A calabash is cheap and you can go to the better tourist area cheaply. The... more

This holtel is way below the rating it gives itself and Thomsom tour give it. Cleaning consists of a cursory wipe leaving years of grime in place. You will tip-toe across the carpel to keep contact to a minimum. Unless you are a masochist or trying to recreate your backing on a barebomes buget (at hige prices) do yourself a... more

We booked via Thomson and chose this hotel as it appeared to be well located. We also prefer small hotels as they are usually quieter with good service. The location was central, but disatrous. The whole area is virtually derelict and being redeveloped (but not the hotel unfortunately). Dust and rubble everywhere. The hotel is tatty and dirty and looks... more

My wife and I have just returned from a package tour of Jordan and Egypt. This hotel was the worst accomodation that we had during our three weeks away. Both of the rooms that we had during our overnight stay were dirty and both had serious maintenance issues. The first room actually had water dripping out of the ceiling into... more

Location Mercure Inn is located slap bang in the middle of Luxor, opposite Luxor Temple. As it's so central be prepared for how busy Luxor is. Hotel Before I left I did read all of the reviews on this website, so prepared myself for the worst. I have to say that it wasn't as bad as some of the reviews... more
