We loved the Severin. We loved the great vaulted thatched and cool public areas, the pools, the monkeys, the swing bar (where we rather overdosed on Pinacoladas), the flame tree grill, and the Imani Dhow restaurant (expensive but romantic). Okay, the bedrooms are a little basic - but this is Africa - and it is more than compensated for by... more

Severin sea lodge is a nice hotel, although it is not 4 stars as advertised, more a 3.5. The hotel is handy for getting into town with an ATM, and supemarket (Nakumat) within easy reach. There is a go-kart track 400 yards from the front gate. Rooms are clean if a little basic, modernised rooms are avialable but they are... more

Hi, I stayed at the Severin Sea Lodge from 16th Aug 08 to 21 Aug 08. I requested for an upgrade to a luxury rooms, I recommend that you request for their superior rooms. The rooms are nice and large and clean. And the balcony overlooks the indian ocean and the pool, so its quite a nice view. The hotel... more

We have just returned from a 1-week stay at the Severin. Overall, the hotel is fantastic. We upgraded our room, but I would still class our room as standard. It was however, always kept clean and tidy and towels and bed linen were changed regularly. One day when i was in the room i changed the sign to 'do not... more

We have just returned from a marvellous 2 week family holiday (including three teenagers) in Kenya, staying at the Severin Sea Lodge. The hotel captures the essence of Africa, in particular the thatched bungalows, some of which overlook the pool and sea. The internal decoration in the rooms were basic, however, they were very clean and spacious. Our rooms had... more

On arrival we were welcomed by James from reception, check in no problem. Book all-inclusive but paid extra to be upgraded to their newly renovated super comfort rooms. These were amazing, very modern but had a good african theme. Stayed in all-inclusive before and was suprised to find here that premium drinks were available as part of the deal and... more

A couple of years ago my (then) girlfriend and I decided to forgo the family affair and get married abroad and I have to say it was one of my better decisions in life! We decided on Kenya as it was a bit different than going to places such as the Carribean and also, being a teacher, I'm restricted to... more

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 4 nights. We booked for a standard room but they upgraded us to the Comfort class rooms in the main block at the rear of the hotel.Ask for room 300. The view from the rooms is not much, unless you get rooms 310-313 and then you can see the... more

Hotel. We stayed at Severin lodge from the 3rd to the 18th of December 2007 and had a wonderful holiday and we would certainly return there and recommend this hotel destination wholeheartedly. The hotel and grounds are very clean and maintained to a high standard. The food was varied and well cooked and the fresh fruit was the nicest we’ve... more
