Stayed there for one night. Room is clean and brightly painted with TV and basic amenties. But a few things are definitely lacking in this hotel: 1. A cup and a kettle - I got nothing to brush my teeth with other than my bottled water. 2. Electric sockets! maybe it sounds weired but there are only 2 sockets in... more

Well what a dissapointment, We travelled from Australia, to singapore and was looking forward to New year in singapore before leaving to the Uk, As we entered the lobby we thought OH MY GOD, then the recipionist handed the key, and it was down hill from there, The room was filthy, the smell was even worse, the bedding had all... more

Arrived a rainy evening at this hotel, after reading the recommendation (!!!!) of this establishment in "The Rough Guide", describing the hotel as a intimate boutique hotel with smart rooms- everything clean and new. Well unfortunately, this hotel is quite the opposite, infact it is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in and on top of it... more

How can I put this ? Dire, disgraceful, smelly, uncared for, appalling, dark, tiny rooms, cigarette burns on the bed covers, see-through sheets. paint on the curtains, dirty windows, grouting all over tiles, peeling paint, doors that don't shut properly, no hot water, shower that only drips, rooms without windows, flickering lights, blowing fuses, noisy air-con, sound from other rooms... more

What can I say ?.....we stayed here 3 years ago and were quite impressed. However, our recent visit was distinctly disappointing and a complete waste of our money, not being cheap! The room was in severe need of renovation. The paintwork was mouldy. The room was tiny and very dark. The bedding had cigarette burns in it. The curtains were... more

Where do I start? The reception area exuded defeat and disappointment. The receptionist herself seemed surprised that a 'white' guy was staying at the hotel. The rooms were so small that the bed took up 80% of the available space. The tiny lobby was full of shipping crew lounging around with nowhere to go and no money to spend. Breakfast... more

I booked the Chinatown Hotel this summer knowing I wanted a cheap, decent room in the Chinatown area of Singapore. The location was perfect - quiet but convenient to public transport - but the hotel has definitely seen better days. Although the lobby is pleasant enough, the rooms have not received the same upkeep and care. The staff were friendly,... more

For SGD50 this is a terrible hotel. The rooms were so small and water leaked from the closet-sized bathroom onto the old carpets. The staff were kind and helpful but could not make up for the horrible state of rooms. Next to the hotel are a bunch of other small and budget hotels that are of superior quality. i would... more

more
