There are a few Hotel 81's in Geylang area.Rate is about Sing$90. I stayed at 2 different places and both were OK. The rooms are clean and everything is basic. Quality Budget hotels are thin on the ground in singapore, or so i thought. No hot water, no movie channel...although published ! No sorry from staff. Cockroaches in the room. Expect day and allnight some horny noises ! Location: REDLIGHT district! Needed a hotel for two nights in Singapore after a two week holiday in Sentosa. Booked through RatesToGo website. In taxi on way there driver told me it was in red light district and she wasnt wrong! Stayed 8 times. Good all-round value. A lot of "transit" customers staying for 2 hours if you get my drift, hence the noise. If you add the cost of taxis to get out of Geylang, it's probably the same price to stay somewhere more central that's better and more expensive.
