Our family of 4 (kids are a 16-year-old boy and 21-year old girl) just returned from 12 great days in Ecuador. Here’s our TR, which we’ve tried to focus on things that others planning similar trips would find useful, rather than on what we saw. We booked this trip through Columbus Travel in Quito, and I have to say that... more

I am ecuadorian and I am glad to say that my country is extremely gorgeous. I went to Sacha Lodge on april, 2008 with my grand father (he also loved the lodge) The lodge workers, native and naturalist guides were very good attending us. I didn t matter because of waking up call early in the morning because with this... more

We stayed in the Sacha Lodge in March, when it was very quite. This did not take away from the magic. The whole trip from the time we landed in Coca was totally positive. The guides were excellent. They have an uncanny ability to find birds and animals in the jungle !. Very impressive. The accomodation is great fun, wooden... more

We had a fabulous time at Sacha. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well screened. We did not get any bugs or other creatures in our room. The food was very tasty and there is something for everyone. Make sure to try the soups. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. Each activity gave you a different perspective... more

The guides were fanastic and the setting was just beautiful. It is hard to pick a favorite activity, but I would say mine may have been the... more

Our family had a pleasant stay. Rooms were basic but clean. Two twin beds, clean showers with warm and cold water. It can be cool at night and not as many bugs as expected. Guides were excellent and really got a feel of the Amazon. Quite a bit of walking! Be prepared to walk in mud but boots are supplied.... more

My name is Irene Grüner, I am Austrian. We were at Sacha Lodge in the Amazon jungle in Ecuador. The place is beautifull and the lodge is very comfortable, clean, well organized, but there were two guys encharged of the lodge that only want to attend North Americans, Europeans and South American people are not welcome. This two guys during... more

Not luxurious, cabin was all wood, had porch w/ hammock, no problem w/ hot water in shower or with having bugs in room. Staff/service was wonderful overall and pretty well organized. Rubber boots, ponchos and umbrellas provided by lodge. Food was average, cafeteria quality overall w/ occasional highlights, barbecue night outdoors was the best. Naturalist/local guide were very knowledgeable. Had... more

Excellent rain forest experience with rustic luxury. Great fun getting there, plane, bus, boat, foot and dug-out! Great guides, food, accomodations. When we were there, few bugs and not too hot. Rain forest adventure, but little or no discomfort! more
