Caters to groups (GAP, etc.), excellent "front line" staff, comfortable rooms, fantastic breakfast, great location, but expensive by backpacker standards ("rack rate" is S/.265@ double with bathroom!). more

All Lima roofs are like that, unless you stay in Marriot in front the ocean, Mariel is not a hostel but price-value relation is very good say our customers. Since Aug 2008 we include a larger buffet and Frigobars A/C/Heater and WiFi in room by request.

I stayed at the Mariel for two days in May 2008. The hotel is within walking distance to shopping and restaurants, and my room was simple but clean and comfortable, and had a nice view of the central park in Miraflores.
