We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end of our visit to Peru and on arrival in Lima found the city pretty grim. The hotel itself is located in a good area once you have your bearings and is close to shops and restaurants and overall we felt quite safe walking around the immidiate area. The hotel staff... more

Our itinerary in Peru and on to Ecuador necessitated 3 separate stays at this hotel during April totalling 5 nights. Room 1 had two large double beds and a kitchenette but, disappointingly, no complimentary sachets of coffee, sugar, etc.. As with all 5 hotels we stayed at in Peru the room was very poorly lit. There was a large bathroom... more

It was an OK hotel, though not what we would consider 5 star in Europe, more like a good 3 star. We were a group of people doing humanitarian work in Peru. Our flight was cancelled and AA set us up at this hotel with vouchers for two days for each meal and each hotel night. When we checked in,... more

The room we had was called a suite, though it was really just a large room with a latticework wooden screen separating the sleeping area from the "living" area. Ther room was carpeted, and contained a double bed, small table and chairs, armchair, bar, sink, minifridge and microwave. A key was needed for the fridge, and, since we didn't use... more

This hotel - while not luxury - was a great value and a nice surprise! The rooms are indeed very spacious and comfortable. The maid service was impeccable, and everything worked just fine. But the highlight was the staff - the service was near perfect, they were friendly without being obsequious, and they had a wonderful "can do" attitude that... more

We stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon to South America last year. We only stayed a day in Lima. This hotel was great, once you were inside you forgot about where you actually were. While we were waiting to check in, we were treated to free pisco sours in the hotel restaurant. The hotel is cetrally located near the... more

My sister and I spent 10 days at the Sol de Oro after I had surgery and we were extremely comfortable. The one bedroom suite was spacious with a small kitchenette, two bathrooms and even a computer. The location is excellent, just two blocks from the main streets of Miraflores and we felt very safe walking everywhere to shop, see... more

I just returned from a trip to Peru, starting out 2 nights in Lima at the Sol de Oro. The hotel was fine, service great (as it is everywhere in Peru) but if I could do it again I'd splurge a bit more for the JW Marriot which is right on the coast, directly across from the Larco Mar shopping... more

Everything about this establishment was wonderful; the staff, the surroundings, the room and the food. The hotel is located in a quiet part of Miraflores, however, it is an easy walk to the coastline and shopping. We would definitely stay there again. more

I was delighted with this hotel. The rooms were very clean and spacious. It is very westernized and the staff was incredibly helpful. more
