I liked this hotel and would stay here again. It was conveniently located and clean with a nice staff and free Internet. The room and bathroom were small, but that’s fine since we just slept here and didn’t spend much time in our room. We had hot water every time we needed it. They also held our bags for us... more

We realized there had been problems with others recently, but were told the hotel has been leased out by the owner to new operators who did not take the same care as he had. A last minute snafu in communications resulted not in an overnight stay, but we visited the hotel twice and had a chance to look over the... more

Hotel Esperanza is clearly a hotel for a one or two night stopover due to flights/ trips starting. Intrepid used this hotel for all of my group ahead of a 2 week trip. Perfectly adequate in a basic way. Don´t expect the Ritz as the 3* rating is somewhat over-optimistic. Functional rooms for sleeping, bread roll for breakfast. If you... more

Perfectly adequate hotel, convenient location in Miraflores, two blocks from the fabulous Gaston y Astrid restaurant. The hotel staff was pretty flaky but eventually -- with reminders -- they ironed out any issues. They arranged a cab driver who took us around central Lima for several hours and took us to the (almost equally) fabulous Pescados Capitales restaurant for a... more

Hotel Esperanza is a great place to stay. The staff are great. Max helped me with everything I wanted and Edith is great too. I can recommend the hotel 100% to anyone planning to stay in Lima. more

This hotel is very good for the small price, it's clean and safe (during my stay there was a security guard on the front gate at all times) it is in Miraflores (the nicest district of Lima, which is generally safer and more gringo friendly) and less than 5 mins walk away is the central park, but even better is... more

For the price, I guess you get what you pay for. Second time around, I'd probably pay a little more for cleanliness and safer surroundings. The room we stayed at was normal sized but had a damp/mildewy smell. The bed had the same smell on sheets, too. The bathroom was the worst where the smell was the strongest. We kept... more

I contacted the hotel through their website asking for a reservation, however when I arrived they did not have this information. No problem as a room was available even at a better price than their website. The room was functional and basically comfortable, although it was stuffy, and without an air conditioner or fan. Traffic noise was louder than I... more

We (me and my wife) stayed in Hotel Esperanza three nights and we are really happy of having stayed there. First of all our plane was delayed and I couldn't get a computer to write the manager and tell him about the delay. So, I was thinking that probably the shuttle service from the airport to hotel, that I contracted... more

Hotel Esperanza is a fine hotel. It is well located, clean, and comfortable. We had a street front room and heard no noise out of the ordinary. The best aspect of this hotel is the owner/manager Max. Over a four week period Max helped me put together one of our all time best trips. Every driver, flight, train, hotel and... more
