Probably the best accomodation I`ve experienced while travelling around the world. Bosnian hospitality is well known - and the owners and staff at Halvat makes it so easy to feel at home. The breakfasts deserve a mentioning of its own as they where simply magnificent and gave a perfect start to the day. Me and my girlfriend stayed at Halvat... more

The Halvat isn't merely a place to stay--it has a certain lovableness that transcends the permeating hospitality this place offers. Clearly, Valida, wife of owner Mumo, makes a massive difference. This manifests itself at the Halvat's legendary breakfasts, where Valida (or Mumo) cooks some type of egg or omelet featuring Bosnia's wonderful smoked beef, the Halvat's kitchen being a pork-free... more

We were going to sarajevo for a coupe of days from Medujorge. We took the bus and our friend took us to the Halvat house. The woman there was lovely. We weren't able to stay in one of their actual rooms, but we did stay at a room which was about two blocks away, at more private quarters, I guess... more

Halvat Guest House was the perfect place to rest at and base my explorations of Sarajevo from. It's location is ideal - close to old part of the city and all the greatest restaurants and cafes in the area. Most importantly, its owners, Valida and Mumo, are incredible people. Welcoming, kind, friendly, and prepared to help their guests organize travels... more

A friend and I stayed at the Halvat at the end of March/beginning of April, 2007. There are plenty of reviews here about the friendly atmosphere of the place and the terrific attitude of the owners, and those are all true. When I next return to Sarajevo, there is no doubt that I will stay again at Halvat. I would... more

I have recommended Halvat Guesthouse to everyone I know will be traveling to Bosnia/Hercegovina at some point. I stayed in room 22A and it was very sizable. It is the orange room noted on the official web site. Everything is just as I needed and more. The staff is very courteous and I could talk with them for hours, no... more

This is a lovely place in the heart of the old shopping area of Sarajevo. Staying here certainly made our stay in this city more worthwhile. Valida, the landlandy, is an exceptional character who would go out of her way to help you with whatever need and questions you might have (ranging from where you can get the best local... more

I stay with Sally in September 2006. We have nice time!! I will be going back soon. We had nice rooms and stayed in private accomodation too. Bathroom doors are not private - they were glass sometimes. We book through hostelbookers but lose deposit so be very careful. Bathroom doors are not very private more

My husband and I stayed at the Halvat at the end of August, 2006. We had room 25, the only room on the top floor under the eaves. It was good size because of this, although the bathroom was small. See photos. Positive comments: - room 25 is good size (didn't see the other rooms) - close to the central... more
