Amanjiwo was a dream i've turned on reality a few weeks ago and to stay in this incredible resort looking like a fabulous and serene temple has been an unforgettable experience. From the arrival to the departure, everything has exceeded all our expectations. The staff is great, always smily and attentive and they're providing one thousand little attentions to make... more

Stayed there 2 nights in March, 2008. Loved every moment of it. I wished I could stay longer. The surrounding volcanoes were so beautiful that I felt like I was in a dream. The staff were all incredible. Borobudur is a must-see. more

This place is absolutely amazing. There is something mystical about it. Probably a combination of its architecture, the omnipresent view of Borobodur (the temple a couple of miles away) and the volcanos which surround the valley. The service was impeccable yet not excessively formal, the suite was majestic and the excursions made for unforgettable experiences (Borobodur at dawn is a... more

I had heard so much about the Aman hotels that I was almost worried that the experience would be anti-climactic. Now that I've been, let's just say that it met all my expectations & more. It is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth. Approaching the hotel, the magnificent architecture is awe-inspiring, with coloseum like columns and a... more

Borobudur has been on my husband’s must see list and so when we made another trip to SE Asia, I made it a point to visit Central Java. During my research, I found that two hotels gave you special access to the temple before the doors open to the general public – Amanjiwo and Manohara. I read about Manohara –... more

The Amanjiwo is undoubtedly a great hotel, but was not what the other reviews on trip advisor led us to believe. Below are the ups and downs of Amanjiwo: + The rooms are beautifully appointed and have wonderful views. + The hotel setting is abolsutely gorgeous and the views unrivalled. + The service is spot on. + The spa treatments... more

I stayed for 2 nights at Amanjiwo for my trip to Borobudour. This was my first and only Aman experience, and despite paying large sums of money for a villa without a pool, I had absolutely no complaints once I arrived. The airport pickup was great, and the long ride to the hotel went very smoothly. We had some local... more

Definitley expensive, but definitley worth it! The rooms are amazing - modern, sleek, open-plan with wonderful patio areas for lounging, and ours had a picture-postcard view down the hillside to borobodur. The hotel is surrounded by volcanoes and verdant plantations. The infinity pool is magical after a hot day sightseeing, and the staff simply cannot do enough for you. The... more

We spent three wonderful nights and can't wait to return. The accomodations and staff are truly exceptional. All rooms are the same layout except for the view, our room had a view of Borobudor in the distance. It was hard to decide whether to sit inside or out on the lovely terrace. The food was fantastic and we ate in... more

We stayed at Amanjiwo for 6 days in September. On average we stayed longer than most guests but there is certainly enough on offer to do here to fill everyday...although as the staff will tell you, doing nothing at Amanjiwo is an activity all on its own and widely encouraged! From the minute we were met at the airport, to... more
