The Bumiminang apparently used to be the best hotel in Padang. We heard from locals that it is now the 2nd best and higher priced than its superior neighbour, the Ambacang, but we had already paid. The Bumi Minang hotel is the best hotel in the provinces West-Sumatera and Riau. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The swimming pool is fairly large, but the beer and other drinks are above average priced. The rooms are reasonably tidy, but the bathrooms could be better and show wear of about 20 years not to well maintenance. Th... more
