“Never mind the entrance”

First impressions sometimes lie and this is definitely the case for this hotel. We arrived after an overnight train trip from Moscow. It is 10 min walking distance form the station but be warned that the entrance is certainly less than salubrious. Although located on Nevsky the entrance is via a rather seedy back lane. The Hotel came across as a straightforward business serving Russian and international guests with a friendly and helpful approach. At the time of booking, staff had been absolutely brilliant getting the documentation for the visas.
