My wife and I stayed at the Miyako last week for 3 nights after liking the look of it on the web and trusting that a Sheraton would be of a high standard. We were very impressed when we first arrived as the lobby of the hotel is absolutely beautiful, but got something of a surprise when we stepped out... more

We had a premium sweet sleeper room with a king size bed, which was very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure (better than I have at home) and the bathroom had the usual plethora of amenities. The hotel staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We had ordered baseball tickets (which I highly recommend even if you're not a baseball... more

Another stay because of Starwood points (only $30 a night plus points). As someone(s) have stated before, this isn't exactly the best hotel to use as a basis for traveling to other cities in the Kansai region via a Japan Rail pass (though I highly recommend using Osaka as a jumping off point...just from a different hotel). It *is* well-located... more

This was the last hotel we stayed in Japan. We were here for a bit over a week and the hotel was very average. The service was ok and some of the staff seemed to have little english comprehension which was surprising for an international hotel. We got an old room which was very 1970s but it was clean and... more

We booked a triple share room at this hotel for a one night stay and found the rooms and service as expected for a Sherton hotel. The room contained 3 king size single beds for a triple share at AUS$165 per night with plenty of room to move around the beds and the desk in the room. The bathroom was... more

I stayed at Sheraton Miyako in January 2008 and some parts of the hotel were under renovation. Some floors were totally revamped to "Sheraton standard" but some floor were still stuck in the 1970s era Howard Johnson motel standard. Apparently before Sheraton took it over, it was locally managed Miyako Hotel. You could still see reminiscene of it in parts... more

I won't go over the ground of previous commentators as they have said much that I would concur with. The hotel is easy to get to/from the airport, (bus stop number 7, 1300 yen) and it is the only stop too and from the airport which is very convenient. Breakfast was ok, though got a little boring after 5 days,... more

As other reviews have pointed out, this hotel is still under refurbishment so at the moment as of January 2008, only the top few floors have the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds. We were lucky enough to have 2 of these rooms for our 5 night stay and due to the renovations, made the hotel feel a lot younger than its... more

I think Americans needing a place to stay in Osaka will be very happy with this hotel. The interior had a new modern feel. My room was large by Japanese standards (though smaller than current US sizes), modern, very clean with new furnishings. My room looked just like the photos on the hotel website. The bed was comfortable with high-quality... more

This area is really cool. The hotel is just above Kintetsu railway and departmental store, imagine the amount of delicacies you can find in a Japanese supermarket. The underground will lead you to the closest subway. Just across the street, there are little shops where you can have suppers. The hotel is magnificent, huge lobby, and excellent customer service. The... more
