This is a lovely Hotel which is located close to the Dotombori area where there are lots of shops & places to eat (a couple of minutes walk). Nearby is the Daimaru Departmental Store which has a fascinating food hall in the basement plus have a look at the sweets for sale in the lower basement! The room was great... more

This hotel justifies its high position as a popular hotel in Osaka. It is located near the Namba subway and railway stations in a very busy Dotonbori area with lots of places to eat, drink and shop right by the hotel. Plenty of Western-ish places too if you yearn for a sandwich. The rooms (we had two, moved froom smoking... more

This hotel was wonderful. From the minute you arrive at Osaka, you see how easy it is to get to by taxi (its not an extortionate amount and definitely worth it if you're travelling in a group with luggage). You see the location and you notice you're right in the heart of everything. The lobby is modern, the staff are... more

I booked a special USJ package called "Otokudane" which means Good Deal in Japanese, through JR Tokai Tours. The agency is located at some Shinkansen stations.(sorry, I don't know if you can find anything in English to book) Our package included a 1 day pass to the Universal Studio Japan, return Shinkansen ticket from Shin-Fuji St (my hometown) to the... more

Nice place. Was there from 12th-15th Jul for 3 nights. We got the 3 nights for 51,000yen (including breakfast, which was pretty GOOD). The assigned room was a double. Decor is modern, and room was very clean. Location is on the busy Shinsaibashi & Dotombori streets, so don't worry about shopping or food. Since, everyone has already review about the... more

We arrived at the Cross after a short walk from Namba station after catching the Rapit train (on the Nankai- Namba line) from Kansai airport. I kept thinking what a great decision I had made to book us in at the Cross Hotel and nothing let me down in the following two days we stayed there !! This hotel represents... more

The interior of this hotel is ultra mod - decorated in red, white, dark gray and black. The rooms are small, but very functional. The hallways are really dark...they are painted a very dark gray. I booked this room via a third party website, it worked okay - but I'd recommend just going through the hotels website (which I didn't... more

The hotel was a great find with easy access to good food within 10 mins walk and a 24-hour supermarket less than 5 mins away. Our room was always clean and smoke-free (we have requested for a non-smoking room). Hotel setting is very chic and staff have been very friendly and helpful. We love the toilet - decent size with... more

Loved it! Very hip feel to the hotel, its more of a 5 star version of the uk's travelodges! The breakfast was a bit poor but we only ate there once and used our JR rail passess to get about, the rooms are compact but spotless, immaculately serviced as well. The front desk wont change travellers cheques so be aware,... more

The Cross Hotel (formerly Hotel Riva Nankai) has recently undergone a refit and the result is excellent. We spent 8 days here while in Osaka during April 2008. Rooms are very well kitted out for the price, with all mod cons. The bathroom we had was fitted with Japanese style shower which can be a bit confusing for the westerner... more
