Stayed in the property as part of South American Vacation with my parents in 2004 The property is so far from Pelourinho, we were always stuck in traffic going back. Stayed here for a week in March and enjoyed the ammenities. The rooms, grounds, gym, etc. are all great. The staff speaks limited english. It is quite isolated as well, near the beach but not close enough to walk to, etc. I would recommend renting a car! Stella Maris beach is nearby and fabulous. more

Stayed at the Sofitel Salvador for 5 nights in August 2005. The hotel is a little bit far from the city but it is a great place to relax, the garden and swimming pool are nice and quite.
