You will want one of the deluxe rooms as those are the ones that have been refurbished and are on a higher floor. Stayed in this hotel in 2003, had a superior bedroom. It was a good place to stay, but didn't blow me away. Bedroom was very good and comfortable, with king size bed, ocean and city view, but a small and a bit dated bathroom. I have just returned from an ok weeks stay at the Pestana Hotel. I had to request a non-smoking room on arrival as all guests are issued smoking rooms unless specified at the time of booking. Thankfully I had the last non smoking room on the 12th floor. Rooms are nicely decorated with cable t.v, mini bar, safe and balcony.... more

If you are looking for a beach front hotel, forget it. It is very far from any decent beach (the best beaches are near the airport).
