Stayed here on business. Have stayed in a good variety of Hotels in Rio but this is the worst so far. Very Poor Quality. Rooms run down and well past their best. Cigarette burns in the bedsheets. Filthy black marks on the bedsheets. Grubby carpet throughout. Air con really noisy and rattly. No view from the room, overlloking a very... more

I only stayed here one night, but was well looked after. For the money it was ok, the bathroom suite was a little antiquated and dark, but it was more than adequate and all very clean. The room was great and the views quite good, although sadly too far for a beach view. The staff on the beach however were... more

This is a very functional hotel Rooms slightly tired, average breakfast and poor snack food. A bit expensive for what it is, but Ipenema is expensive so...? more

This mid size hotel is located on Prudente de Morais street, one block from the Ipanema beach. However, this is not a beach hotel at all. Rather a business and to some degree convention hotel. The feel is more of a midtown place than a beach hotel. Rooms are ageing and have only basic appointments. The restaurant has a breathtaking... more

We stayed for 9 nights at the Everest Rio in May of 2006. I'd been to Rio many times before and stayed here because I thought the price was right for the location and quality of the hotel. Our room was on the 20th floor with views of both the Atlantic and the lagoon. The bathroom is older - but... more

We stayed at this hotel for one night for a wedding. At the recommendation of the bride, who stated this was probably a 4 star hotel. We paid $125/night (group rate), but I believe the regular rate is ~$250. The lobby area was very nice and did indicate a 4 star hotel, along with the very polite and helpful bell... more

Great location - barely a block from the beach; I don't think there are any rooms with beach (or hardly any) view. Pleasant, clean, fairly spacious rooms w/clean bathroom, lots good cable/movie channels. Rooftop tiny pool w/good view and small bar. Rooftop restaurant as well; b-fast buffet (included) is phenomenal! Staff speak good English, but as prev. reviews have said,... more

Was definitely surprised at what a great hotel this was. I was aware that it wasn't a 5-star hotel, but was happily surprised by everything. Lobby, hallways and rooms were super clean. Staff was so nice and friendly. Our view from the 19th floor was great, saw the beach and the lagoon. Mini bar was well stocked, and pretty cheap.... more

The hotel is a bit older and I found the room to reflect that fact. The furniture was mismatched and odd. The bathroom, however, was really nice with a good shower, seperate bidet and a nice vanity mirror. I didn't really like that they charged extra to use the safe in the room - complete with old-timey and bulky lock... more

We recently returned from a few days at the Everest Rio. We had a great time and recommend the hotel. We have traveled to Rio before and checked out a number of hotels. For quality, price and location this one probably can't be beat. We are a family of four and had a large suite on a high floor. The... more
