Splendid hotel. Modern, fresh and spotlessly clean. Simply a step across the road onto the beach. Unlike most commentators, we had absolutely NO bad experiences in Rio. The Astoria Palace although fairly small was easy enough to find, Just head for the centre of Copacabana beach on a bus or taxi, and look for no.1866! We stayed here for two nights in September 2007. The location is wonderful, right on Copacabana Beach and a block from the Copacabana Palace.
