Tulemar is one of the best places we've ever stayed! Breath taking views from our bungalow, friendly staff. We saw monkeys outside our window and even discovered a sloth hanging out in a tree near the pool (animal, not human). The room was cool, clean with panoramic views of the Pacific. We will definitely return! more

We came to this property after being thoroughly spoiled at Xandari, so thought we couldn't be as happy with a resort. We had a standalone view with a spectacular view of the ocean, wrap around windows, and plenty of space. Wow! The buildings are older and a bit funky, but I think that added to the charm. The shower/tub was... more

Very beautiful, peaceful location. Outstanding views. I have never slept as well on vacation as I did here. Great to wake up each to the beautiful panoramic views. Maid service: very good. Laundry: Excellent (used it a few times and my clothes were back within 3 hours). Restaurant: so so. Breakfast buffet was good, but menu selection for rest of... more

While we were disappointed with how overrun manuel Anotino is becoming, Tulemar was an oasis for us. The beach is private and very nice. the services at the beach were great, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, kayaks all free and a nice little bar and snack bar. 2 of the 3 days there we saw monkeys playing in the trees right... more

Our family went to CR in March for the first time. We have two young children and spent time in Arenal to see the volcano and of course went to Manuel Antonio. I have read all the reviews now let me give you my opinion: Food- I heard that the food in CR was not up to par but I... more

We've stayed here a few times and the grounds and beach are great. The views are excellent. The restaurant is decent but overpriced for the area. The pool is near the restaurant and really lacks any character or privacy. Everyone from gardening, laundry, delivery, etc will be walking through. If you should be there during Someones wedding foget about peace... more

My husband and I stayed at Villa Mot Mot for a luxurious 8 days. We loved being in the heart of the rain forest with monkeys, exotic colorful birds, and huge flowers and plantings surrounding our large deck with its hammock and numerous lounging chairs. We could tour the many sights of Manuel Antonio or simply relax and watch the... more

I have travelled extensively in Europe, Africa & the Caribbean and this was my first visit to Costa Rica. I found the Country to be a fascinating place and, without exception, was well treated by the friendly locals. I was especially pleased to have chosen 'Villa Mot Mot' for our stay. The villa is part of a cleverly designed complex,... more

The pictures are deceiving. The rooms are very outdated. The bathroom was straight out of the 70's with missing tiles and mold. I expected bugs being that we are in a rain forest; however, the substantial amount of ants was disgusting. They were everywhere, even in the bed. The staff was less than attentive. The hotel was empty. We ordered... more

We had been to Costa Rica before, but never to Manuel Antonio, so we went to VRBO.com (vacation rentals by owner). MA was our first destination after landing. We got there around 3:00, a three hour drive. It was rainy, as we went in October. I stopped by the rental office in MA, and Adolfo led us by car to... more
