We stayed here two nights before heading out on a two week sailing trip. Our groups stayed in a partially overwater bungalow, standard rooms and a garden suite. All of them were comfortable but i would opt for the bungalows over the rooms as they are special. Interesting bathrooms. Beautiful grounds. Excellent snorkeling right on the property. The restaurant was... more

Really enjoyed our stay at this small comfortable hotel. Staff were wonderful and always willing to help with whatever you needed. We stayed in a Premium overwater bunglalow which has a large king bed and a smaller bed off to the side. Perfectly adequate room and bathroom but very basic. We did not have problems with mosquitios but were always... more

We had a great time at the Hawaiki Nui Pearl Beach Resort. After staying at the Manihi Pearl and Bora Bora Pearl for 3 days each, we had to extend our honeymoon in FP for two more days. The Bora Bora Pearl was nice, but quite large and a bit artificial, and since we had already experienced Manihi (which was... more

Here's where overwater bungalows with windows in the floor got their start! There is a special charm to staying in one of the first overwater bungalows and watching colorful fish swim in the coral heads below you. But charming only goes so far: these bungalows are in need of an update. They lack air conditioning and bug screens on the... more

We spent 3 nights at the Haiwiki Nui for our honeymoon after a few days on Bora Bora. We'll break our review into different sections. SETTING - Raiatea is definitely a quiet island. There is one small town (Uturoa) with a couple supermarkets, a little bit of shopping, a cruise ship dock, an internet cafe, and a small number of... more

We had chartered a boat from Sunsail and had sailed for 8 days enjoying Tahaa, Hunahine, and Raiatea. Came back for a few nights in different locations and wanted a small quiet place rather than the tourist destination. We had reserved a garden room and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to an over the water bungalow. It was wonderful!... more

I submit many reviews on Trip Advisor and this review will differ from my normal delivery as the Pearl Beach Resort on Raiatea is quite different than probably anything you’ll experience in the French Polynesia Island chain. We are Americans and well traveled, however, based on what you’ll get from Raiatea – I think your view will change by the... more

Raiatea was part of a multi-island tour of French Polynesia for us in August 2004. It is an interesting island because it is not heavily tourisited but is the local administrative and governmental center. That means that it does not have have a very isolated feel (as in the Tuamotus) but also does not have a lot of tourists or... more
