We got an incredible deal through lastminute.com for a two bed, two bathroom suite (£78!)- perfect for the family of four - and knowing Cape Town well was slightly nervous about the city centre location. But the hotel was fantastic- kind staff, easy parking, the rooms really well appointed. Breakfast was good, the kids enjoyed the plunge pool and wonderful... more

I owe The Fountains a review!!! We stayed a week there and the experience was simply wonderful. Front desk was wonderful. We asked for a room with a view and not only were given one but they gave us an upgrade to a very nice apartment (living room, fully equiped kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, balcony) with a gorgeus view to table... more

Stayed here for one night - Jan 4 2008. Suite ok but a bit worn in places with useless aircon. Credit card used here was cloned and used 5 times in Jo'burg and Pretoria at the end of Jan. Seems to be a rogue receptionist using card details. Another of our party also had his card 'done'. This was the... more

We have taken note of the above review and find the accusation incorrect and unfair. Credit Card fraud is an ever present problem in these times and we recognise that staff could be induced to co-operate with international fraudsters. We have thoroughly investigated these incidents as they were reported to us. Our investigation involved the police, lie detector tests and...

Hotel was clean and pleasant. Food was good and staff where friendly. Unfortunaltey our party had three credit cards subject to fraud and the only place where the cards where handed over was here at the Fountains Hotel. £3k+ was placed on the cards two weeks after we left the country. Would be a good hotel if managment eliminated the... more

We might have been lucky, because after some problem in the check-in, they gave us better rooms! My evaluation: Location: Good. Cape Town is not a so big city, and we had no problems getting to everywhere. Room: Excellent. Very clean and spacious. Price: Good. Staff: Excellent. The helped us in every single problem or question we had. Breakfast: Very... more

Located close to business district and to street markets and nightlife of Long Street, Waterkant etc.; taxi rank just outside. Clean, modern decor, reasonably sized room (mine looked onto an internal wall but some, esp. on upper floors where there are s/c apartments, would have pretty good views). Good restaurant but (by absurdly low SA prices) a bit expensive. Don't... more

price wise hotel is okay.Breakfasts are good value but evening meals are expensive, much better to eat out.Try Long street. Hotel bar prices are higher than local establishments and avoid using the mini-bar Daylight robbery!! Cape Town is fairly safe during daylight hours not-so safe after dark, too many ne'er-do-wells lurking about. more

Stayed in an apartment on 9th floor. The windows are not double glazed so room was noisy. Equipment and furnishings were of a high standard with plenty of space in the one bedroom apartment. Staff there very helpful especially Lynn on reception. Breakfast provided but limited choice for a vegetarian so meals were a little tedious. Standard of room service... more

I spent one night at the Fountains Hotel in the centre of Cape Town. It might have been my short stay or having booked a special offer that I was given room 323, which is facing the opposite block and hardly any daylight comes in. The room was clean but very compact. The bathroom was also clean but somewhat worn... more
