We had two nights here as part of our 10 day trip to Samoa, and although it was by far the cheapest accomodation (50 tala pp per night incl breakfast and dinner = around NZD26) it was fantastic and we would have happily stayed longer. The fales are basic, with mattress, sheets (nicer than Virgin Cove!), pillows, mosquito net. mats,... more

A beautiful, surreal, and wonderful experience, on the most gorgeous lagoon. This this is the South Pacific of your imagination a century ago or today. Time stops here, and everything slows down. The accommodations are mats w/ mosquito netting in an oceanfront fale (small grass hut). Commune with the gekos and you will enjoy the best night's sleep as the... more

My family ( wife, son 22, Daughter 21) had six nights at Tanu Beach over the christmas period. It was one of the most relaxing holidays I have had in my life. A beach front Fale (step out to the beach and into clear warm water) was basic , but clean, adequate matress and mosquito net. All we needed really.... more

We stayed at Tanus twice, first in 1995 and last year. It's a lovely place for all kinds of travellers. The family is very friendly. The boss is the matai of the village. That means nothing will get lost. There are no dogs or pigs running around like in other villages. The food is served on a big table. That... more

My friend & i stayed at Tanu Beach Fales for 5 nights during july 2007, & we wish we could have stayed longer! We got picked up at the ferry terminal by one of the 'Tanu beach Fale' vehicles & travelled about 40 mins to Manese, Savaii where the fales are located. On arrival we were given a coconut &... more

My family (2 adults and 2 kids) spent 5 nights at Tanu. We loved it and would go back again. I guess you'd describe the holiday as camping Samoan style but with your meals provided. Even if we were "hotels only" people, we'd still spend a couple of nights there again for the experience. Things we loved: - fales are... more

This is the place to just kick back and relax. The family is wonderful, the fales are clean, with comfortable mattresses and soft kapok pillows (mine anyway). There is a locked security cabinet in the shop where valuables should be stored to prevent any worries. Saturday night is fiafia night and the whole family dances, including the 2-year-old who toddles... more
