We stayed at the La Quinta Thomas road for three nights after flying into Phoenix Airport for the start of a 3 week trip through California. In general the hotel was ok and reasonably clean. Very average Spartan rooms. Neighborhood is grim, expect hookers and other low lifes. Other than a Denny's and a Macdonald's in the nearby Chevron station, you are SOL for food. The large Phoenix fire station DIRECTLY across the street is another nice amenity (if you get shot). Otherwise the sirens in the middle of the night are amusing. An aging... more
