After spending a morning at the Petrified Forest/Painted Desert, my husband and I were hungry for a good meal and so headed to The Turquoise Room restaurant at La Posada. We had tried to book a room at La Posada as we were planning our trip, but couldn't get in. On a whim, my husband went to the front desk... more

This is such a unique and amazing place to stay. The ambiance of the historic hotel was absolutely enchanting. The artworks displayed by Tina Mion exuberantly celebrate the spirit of Womens ingenuity and creativity, something Mary Colter embodied in her time. The pairing of the two, create a surreal almost mystical experience, with new and entreating sights haunting every corner.... more

Whilst Winslow as a town is a bit of a one trick show (the corner from the Eagles song), I cannot praise the hotel too highly. It's a stunning building, with lovely gardens and it's obvious that the owners are lavishing care and attention on this in a labour of love. The proximity to the rail road for us was... more

There are many reviews of La Posada in Winslow, Arizona here at Tripadvisor, and they do a good job of describing this historic renovated hotel that was one of the last "Harvey Houses" designed for the Santa Fe Railroad by the famous Mary Coulter. While we found it to be a very nice place to stay, there was one discomforting... more

First, the negative: The hotel staff at the front desk was indifferent. Not once during our two day visit did I hear them say "good morning," "how is your stay," or "is there anything that we can do for you." Engaging them in conversation was more difficult than getting a smile out of the guards at Buckingham Palace. With that... more

What else can I say about the La Posada Hotel in Winslow. My husband and I stayed here 5 years ago and vowed to go back if we find ourselves traveling this way again. We did, and we loved it. We flew into PHX and drove to Winslow and stayed for 1 night on our anniversary. The owners have been... more

We stayed at La Posada for one night late July. We purposefully tied this into the next day's visit to Petrified Forest and Painted Forest. just so we could stay and eat at the hotel. We heard about the hotel from internet articles and Frommer's. I loved staying there and would stay there again, even though there is nothing in... more

I was moving to New Mexico from Los Angeles. The hotel I had planned on staying in had no room due to a Karaoke/ Nun convention (no joke). I was directed to this little hotel a half hour down the road from Flagstaff. There is nothing in this town & as I exited the freeway I had great trepidation. But... more

We recently stayed overnight at the La Posada Hotel and found it to be an especially lovely place - both inside and out. We stayed in the Dorothy Lamore room which was spacious and well-appointed. We had dinner and breakfast at the famed "Turquoise Room" restaurant and while both were delicious, the dinner really was fantastic. We took the advice... more

We had been to La Posada previously and were very excited to return. The place is beautiful, historic and a little spooky. The paintings add to that slightly spooky feeling, but in a nice way. Our first visit was wonderful. Our second was not. We booked two rooms at the end of the hall on the right hand side. Nice,... more
