We stayed three nights and could easily of stayed three more. Lovely food good selection well prepared. Good selection of wine to fit any ones budget. We chatted to other people staying there and everyone liked the atmosphere of the place. The decor was a bit tired but clean and cosy. Would I stay again? I certainly will be. more

For once I hadnt read the tripadvisor reviews before booking this place, I must have spent two hours trawling the internet for somewhere to stay where we only had to spend one night, (most places in this sort of situation insist on two). Great old fashioned country inn. Roaring fire in the old range, wonderful countryside, fantastic food, helpful staff. Just what I needed for a quiet weekend away to recharge the batteries. more

We visited in July 2006 for a meal following a walk in the nearby Howgills. As locals, we had passed The Fat Lamb a number of times and always thought that with such a wonderful setting we should try it sometime.
