My husband and I have just returned following a wonderful 3 nights staying in The Nook at Althea Library, Padstow. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome from the owners and were shown to our accommodation, a recently built annex to the original listed building. The Nook is light and airy, spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped. It is truly... more

We stayed for one night whilst on a trip around Cornwall. The property dates back and has been updated sympathetically to make it into a cosy bed and breakfast. It is around 5 minute walk to the town centre which is also at the harbour and has many restaurants. So location is excellent, saying that Padstow is tiny so any... more

We have just returned from a 3 day stay at this B & B and cannot fault it. We stayed in the Green Room, which was roomy and very comfortable. The thoughtfulness of the owners in adding their own little touches made all the difference. The little outside terrace was a pleasant place to sit and relax and watch the... more

Althea is a wonderful little Bed and Breakfast, the Ivory Room was beautifully presented, fantastic range of refreshments and products throughout the suite. Breakfasts were outstanding. You will not be dissapointed by this fabulous little place! more

We have just returned from a short stay in Padstow and after using trip advisor to review this wonderful B&B I have to agree with all the comments posted. From the minute we arrived nothing was too much trouble we had a space reserved for our van in the private car park and tea brought out to us on the... more

We stayed 2 nights at The Nook in Althea House and it was a 5 star experience. It’s beautifully decorated and elegant. The weather was pretty awful when we got there so we hibernated from the rain in the cosy sitting room with its gas fire and Sky TV. The Nook also has a large luxurious bathroom and separate comfy... more

Stayed at the Althea Library (Green Room) for 2 nights in mid-February 2008. Hosts were friendly and attentive and the accommodation cosy, comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Good location about 5 minutes from the town centre and free parking is a big bonus. Particularly liked the fresh milk in the in-room fridge and the fair-trade tea, coffee and sugar.... more

Having decided to extend our stay in Padstow we had to move from our original b&b as it was fully booked. We were lucky to be able to book the Green Room for 2 nights. The owners immediately made us welcome and we 'moved in' at around 10.30 in the morning which was so convenient for us (probably not for... more

We stayed in The Nook at Althea library for 2 nights and loved it. It was like a home from home with a separate lounge and a huge bathroom with jacuzzi bath and power shower. The breakfasts were delicious and we loved it that they were served to us in our own lounge. It is a great location fro exploring... more
