We went for a weekend away to relax and enjoy ourselves. We do not drive and so getting to and from the train station to the Wheatsheaf was a nightmare, an expensive one at that. The journey there on Friday evening cost £40.00 in a taxi. It was also difficult to get hold of a taxi company, the taxi back... more

Stayed here at the end of May on their 3 for 2 offer, meaning you stay 3 nights, pay for 2 but have to eat at their restaurant for 2 of the nights. Some may think this is restricting, but it suited us. Very warm welcome when we arrived, greated by owners, shown around and then left to our own... more

Have never written a review before but was motivated to this time. Right from the point we walked in through the door we were made to feel very welcome and at home. The owner took pains to show us round. We spent one evening eating in and one evening out at a wedding. On the evening in, the food was... more

Stayed at The Wheatsheaf in December - and will not be going back. The staff were always busy doing something else or seemd to be stressed and grumpy; the bar and reception were frequently unattended; the food was average and over-priced for what it was, and polite complaints were either dismissed or met with defensiveness. There is too much noise... more

We stay in this hotel every January and everytime we say we must do a "review"......so here it is: The Wheatsheaf is a lovely relaxing hotel in the Cotswolds. it is only 12 miles from Cheltenham which is very handy for race meetings. This family run hotel has always been a pleasure to vist. The staff are always friendly and... more

Stayed for 2 nights with my bf in the "larger" standard double room. with en-suite (shower - no bath) The hotel itself looks lovely from the outside but the room allocated us was small for the price (I know its the cotswolds but even so felt the room was overpriced). Upon our arrival owner was helpful and friendly but we... more

We did not stay there. But we decided to have a look at the rooms for future plans and have some lunch. Everything seemed OK. Lovely Hotel and venue but was very dissappointed with the manageress and her attitude. They had stopped serving lunch at 14.30 and we decided to have a few drinks. We were told that someone would... more

just returned from a 3 night break at this beautiful hotel. could not fault anything, room 2 absolutely lovely, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Kelli, Christy, Jo, Peter and Trudi were all absolutely delightful, made our stay so relaxed. Returning in november and looking forward to seeing them all again and also socks, Kelli's new puppy. more

There are many good things to write about our stay, the friendly atmosphere, the inviting/ family run feel. The food was also lovely, and breakfast included was a bonus. What was dissapointing however was the room. We opted for the standard double, as i was told the large double was only a difference in room size, not bed size. We... more

The Wheatsheaf Hotel was an excellent find. The service is friendly and makes you feel like a regular, even though we had never been here before. The room was large, clean and comfortable with a bed even we got lost in. As for the food, the menu at first appears like a 'gastro pub' type menu, but the food you... more
