We were filled with trepidation finding out that Hilton Caracas no longer existed and that the socialist government had taken over the hotel. Interesting that Hilton and other hotel websites misrepresented the hotel as being "under renovation" when in reality, Hilton was losing its lease. Nothing looked renovated and nothing was under renovation during our one week stay there. Lobby,... more

This hotel is no longer in the Hilton family. It has been taken over by the Venezuelan government and an allied private company. Its name will (or already has) change to the Hotel ALBA-Caracas. The hotel's service is sub-standard, at best. The rooms are dated and dirty. The internet is outrageously expensive! And the area the hotel is located in... more

I have gone to Caracas 3/4 times over t he past two years mainly due to my husbands work. We stayed at the Hilton Caracas and the hotel service is reflective of t he rest of the city, SLOW AND COULD CARE LESS WHAT YOU THINK! The hotel is clean but absolutely nothing wonderful just like the city. There are... more

I stayed ath the Hilton Caracas for 2 nights after an holiday in Los Roques. The room was big and clean but absolutely very old style! Breakfast in the morning is ok! The check in is not quickly! Absolutely not! The hotel has a good rate compare to others international hotels in Caracas! The hilton in Caracas is a good... more

The Caracas Hilton is safe and secure option in a fairly dangerous city. It's definitely more oriented for business travelers. I'm a single traveler, stayed there in early April 2007. If you're on a stopover in Caracas before going to other parts of the country, do not stay in downtown Caracas unless you actually need to spend time in the... more

Among the luxury hotels in Caracas, this is the best if you don't have your own transport - it's located right next to a Metro station. It's also relatively cheap, at hilton.com I had no trouble getting a double for USD 120 in December, which is supposed to be the high season. The Intercontinental and others are more like USD... more

This rooms in the hotel are dated and expensive. The hotel is located in a criminal part of Caracas and the service in the lobby is unfriendly and even rude. Luggage is being neglected or ignored, securitystaff is unfriendly and is bothering guests and visitors with futile details etc. etc. If you can pay the rates of this hotel, go... more

I stayed in the Hilton Caracas for 7 nights. It was my second visit to Caracas and it was much better than the first. I personally wouldn't consider Caracas in my vacation plans. Anywhere in the Andes like Merida or the resort areas on the coast would be a better and safer bet. As others have noted, the area in... more

You may well be looking for a well known brand in Caracas - it is not the safest of cities after all. And the Hilton certainly delivers the brand and a feeling of saftey within its walls. The rooms are OK, if a bit dated, but the service is pretty poor and most of the facilities were not open when... more
