We loved our short stay at Viang Yonok which really lived up to our expectations. From the warm welcome from Ian and Vanessa to the exotic, tastefully furnished lodges and the amazing food - everything is perfect. Much thought and attention to detail make this the perfect place to relax and take in the unique atmosphere of this area. The... more

We stayed for two nights in this wonderful place. It was so quiet and relaxing and the owner/staff were very nice and helpful. The food was probably the best we had out of our 4 week trip - all cooked by the owners Mum and not too expensive either. We stayed in the Whistling Duck bungalow which was lovely for... more

This hotel is fabulous - I had a wonderful stay here with my best friend and we were very well looked after. We were treated like princesses and neither of us wanted to leave after a 10 day stay! It is a very quiet and peaceful location right by Chiang Saen Lake. The rooms are fabulous - they are air... more

My wife and I recently spent three nights at Viang Yonok, and we can only endorse the previous favorable reviews. The hotel is a very pleasant mix of laid-back bed and breakfast and the amenities of a boutique hotel. The location at the edge of Chiang Saen lake is superb, and ideal for exploring the region by bike or car.... more

Ian and Vanessa go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Her mom prepares outstanding Thai meals, they have paid attention to little details in building the place, and it is wonderful to be in the country away from the hustle and bustle yet a few minutes from a sweet little town with cheap massages, a wonderful museum... more

This place exceeded my expectations by far. Everything from my arrival to my departure two days later than planed. After eight days here I found this to be allmost like a second home. The accomodation here is way over what you will find in the area. 5 star hotel for a 3 star price I would say. Wonderful surroundings with... more

This was our third visit, this time we took our parents visiting from England too. We were made so welcome by ALL the staff and spent 3 very pleasant days at Viang Yonok. The home cooked food was delicious & our different preferences (vegetarian/ not too spicy) were dealt with in style (see photo!) What we noticed is how fantastic... more

Everything we expected from the earlier reviews, and more. Not only is the resort very attractive physically, one is made to feel like a personal guest. Both Vassana and Ian are warm, engaging people who do everything they can to make you feel at home - as do all their staff. more

My experience was absolutely perfect. I brought a group of 11 students along for an eco-tourism/environmental science field trip and had never visited this property before. However, the staff was absolutely superb in helping us arrange our trip, the sightseeing details, and especially our accommodations. This is a five-star hotel in a quiet area alongside a beautiful lake and the... more

The owners, Ian and Vassana, greeted us upon our arrival to Viang Yonok. They immediately put us at ease as they showed us to our traditional Thai decorated guesthouses with views of the serene Chiang Saen lake. The setting at Viang Yonok is peaceful and beautiful with tropical gardens, an open-air restaurant, and a small, but perfect-for-relaxing-with-a-drink infinity pool. This... more
